Here are two girls I did as studies from Mjuram Stock. I like the Pirate girl on the left. the props were amusing to me, so i went ahead and drew them. Also a Star Trek Girl.

Most recent project in digital illustration was to make a book cover. I had some help with a pose from my good freind Daniel. here is the over sexualized crap i like to call school work.

 

Also the Typography is laughable. so im probably going to redo it.

 

 

you know you want to read this. Actually you dont. becuase the inside of it is actually my copy of "The Dialectic of Sex", half the book had to be comprimised inorder to fit my cover. but think it serves a higher purpose now, Plus no one reads that femist crap anyways

Got a commision to do another car illustration, from Something awful,

 

This isnt the Final Drawing, but this is what i turned into the proffessor. For this Assignment we were supposed to emulate an illustrator of our choice, I chose ThemRock! one of my favorite cartoon illustrators of all time, i love all the folds and s curves in his cartoons. i dont think i captured it well enough though becuase there is too much going on in this illustration.

My first Assignment for Digital Illustration Class was to illustrate the idiom "Keep and Eye on Him". I had to both illustrate the phrase litterally as well as convey the meaning. For this illustration i wanted to nod to the playboy illustration of the 70's and such artists as Erich Sokol. Mine was obviosuly going to be set in the 70's, but all my photo research were images from Mad men, so it ended up leaning in that direction.

I got together with a really amazing Goon Writer, and we concocted this entry for the WTF DND art work Module contest. I would not have been able to come up with this idea all myself. Tahnks so much to Forum Poster homullus who spent a great deal of time brainstorming cool ideas for this project. It paid off well BECUASE WE WON 1ST PLACE!

Zack: While everyone else was going retro, Jim and Brent took a chance with 4th Edition and it has paid off.

Steve: To be fair to Jim and Brent they sort of won because they kicked butt on every level. Not some gimmick about which rules they used.

Zack: It looks like a professional D&D product, is what you're saying.

Steve: Congratulations dudes! It features a dragon, a ridiculous trap that is almost impossible to escape, instadeath and a roller coaster.

Zack: For going above and beyond the call of contest, these two gentlemen will be splitting the grand prize of a $100 gift card.

Ussualy I dont post any work stuff, but here are some scenes from a video i worked on this summer that i was really pleased with, The style was super fun for me. and i love to draw space cars. My mom was evnetually the voice for the Alien Mom.   The 4th image is from the 3rd video of the series. I was very excited to see that character come to life, and the talking animation was superb.   I have been working with Elisa to make the videos for How it Works Media, and the Art production has never been better, A real animator like Elisa can put a lot of life back into these cold vector illustrations.

 

Here are some of the backgrounds from these videos. An extreamly talented artist gave me some wonderful feed back about this top one here.

School is coming to and end here, and the final projects are kicking me in the teeth. but i fought back hard and completed most everything on time. Here are some things:

I'm talking of course of My students in Graphic Novel Class. (okay they are not really My students, I'm a T.A. but I teach the Illustration portion of the class)

On the Left is the cover, with all the Icons I made for the students. on the right is Ben Mikitten, He told me on Day one that he wasnt very good at drawing. but look at this guy now. Doing all his panels in lllustrator, with good line quality, colors and layout. and just LOOK AT THOSE FUCKING HANDS. those are some good hands ben. Great job. your doing much better than some people in my art class

Illustration Class is kind of on the back burner right now. Here are some projects I'm not really that happy with, Although I did develop an appreciation for the young Liza Minnelli, I feel like there could have been more done on this scratch board assignment. Also on the right is Kara Thrace.

The First assignments for my character design class were to make sequential narratives (comics) using the character we had created. I really wanted to go in an adult direction. I figured it was time to join the ranks of the greats like R. Crumb, and Frazzetta, and all the other great illustrators who drew graphic depictions of nudity and sexual nature, but the truth is these are actually pretty tame.

I had to make a Collage out of Cut paper for my drawing IV class this week.  I wanted to Mash up some Media Content people and some advertisement icons for some kind of conceptual statement about commercial to content ratio times.  

 

But actually... I secretly just wanted to make an AWESOME cartoon Clock with Flo and Anderson Cooper on it! All the detail you see in this clock is actually pieces of paper that i cut from construction paper and some news prints. $5 clock mechanism holds this together along with an entire bottle of rubber cement. The clock doesn’t actually work very well, but it does hang on the wall and tick at you.

about 14 hours of work into this thing, but it looks simple and clean. On top is Flo, with her price gun pointing to the current Minute. And on the bottom is Anderson Copper with an Ice bag on his black eye which I assume he got during the riots in Egypt

Did I ever tell you how awesome Illustration class is? Just look at these poses, so I had to do three illustrations this week, (still workin on the last one) each in a different kind of ink Medium

 

 

 

The Left is done with a speedball dipping pen, And then of course the right on my tablet in photoshop. I got to make a brush for that one, for all kinds of good fake water color Frazzetta texture. Please click to see large, unless you don’t like mermaid boobs.
